Who am I?
Hi! My Name is Cara Sobol-Day!
I am the founder and speech pathologist behind More Than Words Speech Pathology.
I’m passionate about supporting people of all ages to communicate, connect and participate in ways that are meaningful to them. I take a warm, compassionate and neuro-affirming approach, recognising that every person has their own strengths, interests, communication style and goals.
My experience includes supporting clients with a range of disabilities and neurodivergence. I have a particular passion for AAC, social communication and supporting non-speaking individuals. I have extensive experience implementing AAC systems and working collaboratively with families, carers, educators and other professionals to make communication accessible across everyday environments.
I also use play-based therapy, Social Stencil approaches and LEGO®-based therapy to create engaging and meaningful opportunities for communication and connection.
Most importantly, I believe therapy should be individualised, respectful and enjoyable. I take the time to listen to clients and families, understand what matters most to them, and find practical strategies that fit naturally into everyday life.
My goal is simple: to support every person to have a way to communicate, feel understood and be able to participate in the world around them.
When I am not working you will find me playing with my 2 puppy dogs or learning new crafts
